Clinical Psychologist, Neuropsychology

Pure IQ is stubbornly resistant to improvement after about age eight but executive functions and the ability to handle stress and manage strong emotions can be improved, sometimes dramatically, well into adolescence and even adulthood.”

I am a Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist with a Master’s of Arts in Clinical Psychology, a Master’s of Science in Neuropsychology, and a Ph.D. in Neuropsychology obtained from France. I completed my post-graduate training in University Hospitals in France and Kennedy Krieger Institute/John-Hopkins as well as a post-graduate diploma in Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy from the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, USA.

I worked as a Neuropsychologist at the American University of Beirut-Medical Center and held several positions as an Instructor in many universities in Beirut including the American University of Beirut and Saint-Joseph University. In addition to my clinical background, I have published many papers in peer-reviewed journals as well as book chapters, focusing on the development of executive functions and the frontal lobe in children. I am licensed in the UAE, Lebanon, and France and am a member of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine and the International Neuropsychological Society.

I have also volunteered and taken initiatives in many NGOs across the years to help raise awareness on mental health and neuropsychological concerns among vulnerable populations, especially in times of uncertainties such as those encountered during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am fluent in English, Arabic, and French and provide neuropsychological/cognitive assessments, psychoeducational assessments, and developmental assessments in those three languages. I also provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy, and Neurofeedback Therapy and am in the process of publishing a book-chapter detailing evidence-based cognitive techniques for the treatment of children with ADHD.
