Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) has introduced the 'DHCC Mental Wellbeing Community Talks Programme' to commemorate World Mental Health Day. This six-month initiative, in collaboration with the American Wellness Center, aims to raise awareness about mental health by fostering open dialogues within the community. The program offers a platform for both DHCC members and the public to discuss mental health topics, share knowledge, and exchange personal experiences. Building upon DHCC's Mental Health Programme launched in 2018, this initiative seeks to empower diverse communities across Dubai to enhance their mental health and overall well-being.
Dr. Muhammad Tahir, Chairman of the Board at the American Wellness Center in DHCC, emphasizes the significance of community engagement in mental health discussions. He notes that involving residents in community-focused sessions is a crucial step toward eliminating the stigma associated with mental health issues and increasing awareness about the various treatment options available in the emirate.
